|Located close to Moniya town in Ibadan, the IITA Forest Reserve is owned and managed by IITA (The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture). Covering about 350 hectares, IITA Forest reserve is filled with various kinds of vegetation. It also has several natural landscaping features such as ponds, wetlands, farmlands, eight lakes, and a reservoir. Living within this forest reserve is about 200 species of bird, nearly 220 butterfly species, as well as 440 species of plants, mostly used for medicinal purposes in many countries across West Africa. IITA Forest Reserve also has sporting facilities which include a badminton court, 9-hole golf course, swimming pool, lawn tennis court, football pitch, and a few others.|
