If you are looking to have an insight into the life of great afro beat king Fela anikulapokuti, the Kalakuta museum is the right place to be in. You will arrive at the museum at 9am in Ikeja. The museum was built to allow us better understand the life and struggles of Late Afro beat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti. One can catch a high at the museum as the building used to be the house of the legend. On getting there, you can see the dresses fela used in performing, his small pants, his room and on getting to the upper terrace, you can catch a band rehearsing or performing. It is known for being the home to the relics from the life of Fela. You can take pictures and also listen to great and provocative songs of the great legend.
The next visit is the house of assembly. It is located inside Lagos State Government secretariat at Alausa in Ikeja, a central business district of the state. Most visitors that come to the National assembly visit for official purposes and usually have a pass. This is because it also at the state government Secretariat where the Governor of the state works at times. The surrounding of the government house is usually heavily guarded by the police. The building is an epitome of elegance and can be used to take family selfies. The current house of assembly is the 8th and was inaugurated in October 1979.
You spend a few moments here and take a short drive down to ndubuisi kanu park at 11:10pm. The private park is also in Alausa in the mainland of Lagos. Ndubuisi Kanu Park is an outdoor recreational park that is named after retired Admiral Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu who was appointed as the military governor during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo. The park is an outdoor spot for built purely for entertaining guests to different kinds of relaxation and fun. The park has also been used over the years for awareness. The park has a large space and we recommended this one for you to have a weekend getaway. There are nice statues, well equipped children playground so you can enjoy yourself with other adults as your kids also catch their fun. It also has a large outdoor yard where you can picnic and enjoy the night breeze. The park also has a sharwarma joint in it that completely let’s you enjoy your stay. You can take pictures and still eat good food at the same time. The park is the perfect place to have fun with your family or just for yourself.

It’s now 1pm and you need to unwind from the fun of open space. The mall is a great place to have fun indoor. Lagos has a number of top class malls and the Ikeja city mall is the biggest in the state mall is located at Alausa in Ikeja, Lagos State. It is the first of its kind on the Mainland of Metropolitan Lagos. The mall has seen a large number of people troupe into its premises since its inception. Fondly called ICM, there is a Silverbird cinema in the mall where you can choose to see a variety of movie. Not to worry, there are choices for everyone as the kid’s too can watch animations based on parental guidance. The mall is also home to Nigeria’s shopping supermarkets shoprite. With this you can get things from groceries to toiletries and anything the home needs. In the mall one can also find eateries to grab a great lunch clothing brands and clothing stores to get nice looking dresses, phone stores and many more. There is a great and secure parking space for your car too. You do not need to worry about getting money or paying as there are stand by ATMs for people to make cash transactions.
A short drive again in Ikeja and we’ll be at Zen Chinese restaurant. It is located at No. 60 Isaac John St, G.R.A, Ikeja. This is a restaurant that offers top class Chinese cosines. The restaurant is decorated with the art of the Chinese. On entering the restaurant, you might think you have left the state of Lagos and the country itself and entered a whole new one. From the signature fried rice to different rolls and even pineapple buns and butter. The different long list of menus available at the restaurant is mouth watering and a taste of the food will make you want more. The restaurant is a mini China.
It’s evening now and music dance and a great show is what everyone wants. At the Fela shrine, you can have all of this together. Currently known as the New Afrika Shrine, it is an open space club that hosts a lot of events. People come here every night to party and have a good time. You can meet a host of super stars at the shrine who come to perform. There are a number of bands who perform different genres of music most especially that of the legendary Fela. You will meet a lot of people doing different things here as the rule is to do whatever as long as you’re not disturbing the peace of others. Even with this rule, the shrine is a very safe place. The shrine is the replacement of the old Afrika Shrine created in 1970 by Fela Kuti until it was burnt down seven years later.
